Artist' Statement:

I started drawing this piece as a prayer and to respectfully honor the lives of George Flyod, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. I feel a deep sense of grief, anger, and I believe that a call for justice and accountability is needed.

Peaceful protests have been met with numerous instances of unnecessary police violence and curfew orders across the country. I created this work as a sign of solidarity with the Black community. In celebrating the beauty of Black Lives, I respectfully honor the memories of the lives lost.

I am heartbroken to see the injustice people of color have had to face. I stand in solidarity with black people against police brutality, systemic racism, and against injustices based on skin color and beliefs. I do not stand with racists. We need to vote for people with a positive plan of action and a vision of equality and tolerance.

I am listening.

I am with you.

A portion of proceeds of the sale of this print will go to San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside.
